2 out of 5 stars Cheap and Cheerful but pics not so good   January 6, 2009
For the money you can grumble but to be honest i wish I had spent 90 and got a decent one!

3 out of 5 stars Do not use a 2GB Card with this product.   December 30, 2008

Firstly, on opening the photoframe, we realised that we would have to transfer our photos on to the SD card (that's the only type it takes). We needed a Card Reader (bought swiftly via Amazon from ABC Products - a reasonably-priced excellent piece of kit). Having transferred around 110 photos on to the 2GB SD card our daughter provided and previewed them on the computer, we spent considerable time trying to get the Photoframe to 'play' more than a couple of dozen photos.
It is only when reading other customer reviews that we find that the Photoframe does not like 2GB memory cards. We will now try a 1GB card. Watch this space!

Poor range of options, always reverts to pre sets when switched on and buttons do not work well. Cheap but better products elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars good value   December 29, 2008

It's the cheapest digital photo frame you can find now. And for the money it's good value. Looks pretty stylish, black/transparent frame is very modern and pleases most. Obviously not very high quality finish but works very well when it's on the shelf or on the wall.

I bought this as a christmas present and also bought the strikingly similiar looking one from [] (Synn). The looks on the two are almost identical, but there was one crucial difference which made this the superior one. Very simply the fact that it starts automatically playing images when you plug in the power. You have to click four times the play button the [] frame. Makes a huge difference in usability. Especially since it was going for my grandmother, who doesn't really use any electric devices expect the tv. This she can use without any problems.

Good value for money. If you have extra time, you might want to crop your pictures before copying them to the frame to make sure they fit nicely and don't get stretched. I would also recommend tweaking brightness, contrast and saturations etc. of the images on a computer first to make sure they look crisp and colorful on the frame.

Mustek PF-A702B 7" Digital Photo Frame - Black
Tried two of them but both were the same: froze upon loading the first picture when using 2gb and 512 mb SD cards, no contrast/brightness control, no on/off switch, no random selection of pictures. Commendably, Amazon accepted both of them with no questions asked, although at least one of them appeared as a return item to start with.
