Great product, only downside is depending on your car, it may get in the way when changing gear if not adjusted correctly

4 out of 5 stars Good piece of kit   March 31, 2009

Perhaps it because is my automatic car has a horizontal power socket and an adjacent Aux in socket but I think this is a very good piece of kit. I have an iPod classic 120Gb which fits snugly using the supplied adapter. The sound quality being from the Aux output is excellent and the unit charges whilst docked. I can see that trying to mount it via a vertical dash mounted power socket would pose problems but on the right car it is an excellent solution.

Very unhappy with this piece of kit! Not sure how well it works with other ipods but with the 2G IPOD TOUCH it is very hard to get a good connection into the cradle. I have to play the IPOD and wiggle it to get it to play through all of the car speakers and when you go over a bump, the ipod moves slightly and you lose sound to half of your speakers and you have to start the wiggling again!

Also have noticed a hell of a lot of crackling as though im playing an LP through my car speakers and have been told that this is due to the poor connection between the cradle and the IPOD.

In the end I have used the AUX cable to plug directly into my IPOD and wont be bothering with the cradle again. I would recommend you go for the cable approach and forget about the cradle - this one simply doesnt do what it says!!

Fine in theory. For an automatic car with a lighter socket near the handbrake it puts the Ipod nice and close to hand and visible, charges, and sound seems good (through tape adapter). But 10seconds out of the packaging, when adjusting the angle of the mount, the joint between arm and holder was broken. Very weak plastic. In a manual car the chances of it getting in teh way and breaking are too high. Didn't get as far as finding out whether the previous comment on here applies!

Have asked for a replacement but if still too weak will go for the Auto-pilot instead, which allows you to keep the Ipod hidden while still having play/RW/FW on the plug.

I thought this was a great item, able to hold my iPod Touch so i can access it whilst driving. However its not a very good product and I quote "Cradle grips your iPod and rotates to stay upright and easily readable in any position" No it doesnt, if you have a car with a cigarette lighter that faces up you may be ok, if you have one that faces towards you its rubbish, the whole unit falls down when driving around a corner, the iPod falls from the dock slightly stopping your music whilst your driving, if you want to watch movies you can tilt the main unit sideways but this causes even more moving about. "TuneFlex's flexible steel neck adjusts to any angle" no it doesnt, its barely flexible and means you cant angle it to suit any car, especially mine so now im forever hitting it when putting it in gear. Dont get this product thinking your iPod will be securely pinned down or that the neck is flexible enough to bend into a shape that suits your car. Lets hope apple design something more impressive.
