use this alternative instead... July 23, 2008 Chris Tinsley (London, United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have spent many an hour scouring the internet trying to find a decent iPhone headphone adapter and this Griffin model certainly isn't it. I refuse to use Apple's supplied headphones as the sound quality is poor so I need something to allow me to use my Shure headphones, which unfortunately come with an iPhone unfriendly headphone jack. I've gone through 2 Griffin adapters in as many months and this is due to the complete lack of robustness of this product. The Belkin version is worse as it looks like a 1980's mobile phone aerial and is just as sensitive as the Griffin to everyday use as is the iFrogz adapter. At last however i may have found the answer - the EXSPECT iPhone headphone adapter! Unlike any of the others I have tried the build quality is obvious as soon as you remove it from its packaging, it's gold plated and most importantly of all sound quality is absolutely brilliant. If you are sick and tired of throwing your money away over cheap, unreliable adapters then I urge you to get the EXSPECT iPhone adapter. This is my first review and I wanted to ensure that other people don't go through the misery that I have experienced trying to find a decent adapter.
I phone headphone adapter rubbish June 28, 2008 Rachel Bycroft (gy uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have gone through two of these and now need another but am reluctant to go for this style again. I am suprised that apple have not bought out a reasonably priced sports headset. I use my i phone when running but as some other reviews have pointed out the adapters have not been tested for wear and tear, it's not like it has been thrown against a wall its just been bounced up and down. It seems to me that a small rigid piece of plastic/rubber would be more appropriate as the wire's are then not able to bend. Common sense I would of thought! rach b
Absolute piece of rubbish May 20, 2008 Mark W. Monahan (London, UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have now gone through two of these awful things. The first one lasted about 2 months and then it worked in only one ear as the internal wire connections slowly wore out. bought another one, and what a surprise the same thing happened again. For a few days you'll find yourself wiggling it about to find a connection where you can hear in stereo. Mine has now reached a point where wiggling will alternate your listening experience to sound in one ear to sound in neither. I can't even say the product has had to undergo any serious "wear and tear" Don't waste your money!
Useless May 14, 2008 Daniel (London, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Yes, it lets you connect your earphone set into the recessed iPhone jack. Better than the Belkin adapter it also bends around and doesn't stick out of the iPhone. However, it doesn't let you start or stop the music. It doesn't contain a mouthpiece and worst of all, it doesn't seem to do the disconnect properly. This meant that often when a call came in, I unplugged the the adapter but the iPhone thought they were still in. So I couldn't hear a thing.
Lasted for 4 months then died May 13, 2008 Mrs. C. Alexandrou (Herts, London) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
worked fine and kept in my pocket until i need to use it then it decided to only play music out of 1 headphone and then i hand to resort to using selotape and im stuck at square one.
