I purchased one of these docks so I could charge my shuffle without having to use a computer, so in the car where there is an ipod dock and in my portable speakers. Because of the lip around the adapter it doesn't fit into anything, so is totally useless. If this lip wasn't there it might be a whole new ball game.
For me it's a trip back to the apple store for a refund.
